Mei-Mei's New Home

Susan Von Tobel was born to an adventurous heritage in Las Vegas Nevada in the 1940's, amidst much growth and change in the city. She witnessed many changes during that time. In her book, Mei-Mei is forced out of her home and into a shelter where she must wait for a forever home. In her book, there are subtle experiences for children to learn about accepting differences in others and to learn that families of diversity can come together and grow as a family.

Her dream is for a society who can live in peace with others of different colors, race, religion, education, and beliefs. We can see in her books how perseverance, acceptance and love can bring people together.
